Every ranking of AI and nations measures adoption, how much AI a country uses. This index measures Direction density: whether that usage is people directing AI to build, or being led by it. Every number is computed from the Anthropic Economic Index open dataset, November 2025, and the method is shown in full.

Usage cannot tell the difference between directing and being directed.
